Off the grid

Lake Crescent
Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!

Going to Lake Crescent for a few days.  Hopefully we'll have more sun than last year.  It's beautiful either way, and I feel sorry for those of you who don't live in a temperate rainforest.  I'll be back Monday, and if y'all could have the whole healthcare thing solved by then, I'd be grateful, OK?

Feel free to use the comments to tell me why your part of the world is a nicer place to live...

VP urged Congress to get the bill done by Thanksgiving; keeping our fingers crossed.

  2. Actually, I've got nothing. I wish I was still in Seattle. Maybe after residency...

  3. So it's expected to be 105 this afternoon here in Arizona today... but come December, the night skies are clear and the afternoons are sunny and 72! Maybe not better, but different. Enjoy your vacation!

  4. Four seasons here in coastal North Carolina with hardly any snow in the winters. Except for the rare hurricane, quite nice weather. And good beach access to boot.

  5. What more could you want? Hiking and camping available nearby, in beautiful forests with hardly any mosquitoes. Usually not cold enough to snow in the winter, which means you can keep biking year-round. Mountains relatively nearby with excellent skiing (alpine and X-country), snowshoeing, and snowman-making. Numerous water-sports available, including kayaking, sailing, water-skiing. Awesome music scene and a plethora of cultural activities.
Oh, and I'm only 3 minutes away from an Apple Store. See? Living 10 miles closer than you to the mall has its advantages.

  6. Have a great vacation, Shadowfax. Play with the kids, kiss the wife, put your feet up, and have a drink on me!
